Brent Faiyaz has expanded Icon again, adding three songs to the latest version of the album’s Director’s Cut.
The August 7 update adds “fallin’,” “like it was.” and “suave.” featuring Dominican artist Tokischa. Apple Music lists the new edition at 15 tracks, while the Tokischa collaboration becomes the project’s only credited guest appearance.
The three additions join “full moon. (fall in tokyo)” and “1 for you. (spring in new york),” which were added to an earlier expanded edition. The release strategy keeps Icon active without replacing its original sequence: listeners can hear the initial album as a compact statement or move into the added material as an extended closing act.
For Power1047, there is also a direct regional connection. Apple Music identifies Faiyaz as a Columbia, Maryland, native, and his rise from the region into one of contemporary R&B’s most recognizable independent-minded voices remains part of the larger Maryland music story.
The fresh songs give the edition a clearer reason to exist than a simple repackage. “suave.” opens the album’s otherwise solo world to another voice, while “fallin’” and “like it was.” extend the project’s relationship-focused writing. The complete 15-track edition is available now.
