Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show has added seven Emmy Awards to its cultural footprint. The Apple Music presentation led the first night of the 78th Creative Arts Emmys, winning more trophies than any other program honored during Saturday’s ceremony in Los Angeles.
Its top prize was Outstanding Variety Special (Live), which gives Bad Bunny his first Emmy as a producer and performer. The Television Academy’s official record now lists Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio as an Emmy winner for the NBC special, produced with Roc Nation, Rimas, Jesse Collins Entertainment and DPS.
The production also won for music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design and lighting direction, technical direction and camerawork, and Hamish Hamilton’s direction. Taken together, the awards recognize the machinery behind the spectacle—not only the artist at its center, but the teams that made a live stadium performance read clearly on television.
Bad Bunny’s individual Emmy is attached to the program’s live-special victory, while the remaining awards belong to the specialists who translated the performance across the field and the broadcast. That distinction keeps the headline accurate and makes the sweep more impressive: seven different craft and program categories converged around one 13-minute production.
The February 8 show turned Levi’s Stadium into a large-scale portrait of Puerto Rican and wider Latin identity. Bad Bunny moved through a set that included “Tití Me Preguntó,” “NUEVAYoL” and “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” with Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin joining the performance. The official NFL recap emphasized the family references, island imagery and Pan-American closing message that shaped the broadcast.
That creative direction helps explain why the Emmy sweep reaches beyond a celebrity headline. The halftime slot is normally judged in real time by scale, surprise guests and social reaction. These wins assess craft: how music, movement, light, sound and live camera choices carried a culturally specific idea to a mass television audience. The result also places Spanish-language performance at the center of an American broadcast-industry honor.
The Television Academy reported that the Seahawks-Patriots championship broadcast drew 125 million viewers. An edited presentation of the Creative Arts ceremonies airs September 12 on FXX and streams on Hulu the following day; the main Emmy telecast follows September 14 on NBC and Peacock.
For PowerPage readers following music’s reach across television, the result is straightforward: one of the year’s biggest live performances has now become one of its most decorated. Watch the NFL’s official Super Bowl LX halftime-show replay below.
