AZ Chike’s “Look Like My Mama” Video Turns Tyler, the Creator Into a Movie Co-Star
AZ Chike’s “Look Like My Mama” video does more than introduce a high-profile collaboration. It turns the single into a compact movie marathon, placing AZ Chike and Tyler, the Creator inside a string of recognizable screen worlds while keeping their sharp back-and-forth performance at the center.
Released August 28 and directed by Stacking Memories, the video opens at a school filled with “No Rest for the Wicked” flyers. From there, the two rappers move through visual homages to “Napoleon Dynamite,” “Paid in Full,” “Dead Presidents,” “Sinners,” and “Men in Black,” changing wardrobes, locations, and tone without losing the playful energy connecting the scenes.
Tyler is not treated like a guest who arrives for one isolated verse and disappears. He participates in the visual comedy, plays against AZ Chike’s timing, and helps give each reference its own rhythm. That chemistry mirrors the record itself: two distinctive voices trading momentum rather than competing for the same pocket.
The framing matters for AZ Chike. Pairing with a star as visually recognizable as Tyler could easily make the lead artist feel secondary, but the video keeps Chike’s personality in control. A Tyler collaboration now places his own album—not somebody else’s project—at the center of the attention.
