Associated Black Charities Brings The Cookout to Pikesville Armory

Associated Black Charities is bringing one of its largest community celebrations to a new Baltimore County setting. The Cookout at Pikesville Armory takes place Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event is designed around Black culture, connection and opportunity, with everyone invited to attend.

The program combines the atmosphere of a neighborhood festival with practical resources. Organizers have announced live entertainment, food, youth activities, health and wellness information, Black-owned vendors, interactive experiences and giveaways. GREEYO will host the day, while DJ Tanz provides the music.

Career access is part of the plan rather than a separate side table. The Baltimore Alliance for Careers in Healthcare will operate a workforce-development area where guests can explore job pathways, employment opportunities and professional support. That structure gives families a reason to stay beyond one performance or meal.

SECU is presenting The Cookout for a second consecutive year. Associated Black Charities says the larger goal is economic mobility: creating a space where residents can celebrate, meet local businesses and connect with organizations working across the Baltimore region. The event is also a chance to introduce more people to Pikesville Armory as the historic campus continues its transformation into an arts and community hub.
